the routine..

loved the idea of the challenge over at the pub..whats your normal?
for me..its complicated of course lol. my schedule/routine changes when i have to work
but, i still try to have a routine anyways. get olivia up for school, feed/play with maya..help olivia with homework; check my email, mommy board and pea :D and somewhere in there i manage to do some laundry and maybe dishes lol. yes, i'm lazy and would rather indulge myself/and the girls with much more fun things than chores ;) everyday for lunch i either have a turkey sandwich or a pb&j. maya always has bologna. she is a child of routine! its pretty funny actually. every morning she has either toast or a bagel--never ever cereal. nope, no way. she wont hear of it.
olivia on the other hand, likes to have variety..everyday she likes to have a different kind of cereal, or maybe a poptart. and for lunch she likes different things too--sometimes she'll have bologna..but its really more of a last resort. her first choice is always a quesadilla, or mac n cheese, sometimes pb&j. and lately shes been liking hot pockets lol. but never leftovers. try as i might, she wont touch them. can't really say i blame her tho, i hate leftovers too. dont know why..but i do. i guess she gets that from me huh? once its about 4pm..i start doing more housework, since thats about the time i need to start getting dinner ready and making sure art is up (yes, hes still working nights! grrr) we usually sit down to eat dinner about 5:30-6 so that art can leave about 6:45ish. then its just me and the girls again. sometimes we'll watch tv together, but thats getting pretty rare. they'd rather listen to music and get rowdy since i usually try to keep them pretty quiet while art sleeps. and let me tell you..it aint easy keeping 2 girls quiet for that long lol. by 8:30 they are pretty tuckered..and they head to bed. then i get a little bit of time to myself before i head to bed at around 11ish. i used to sb at night..but lately i've not been in the mood so i've been organizing instead hehe.

so yeah. thats my days in a nutshell. nothing exciting. but its my life. and i love it. :) i love that i get to be home with my girls most days..just chillaxin. thats the best.

you spin me right round baby..right round...

so in my absence..i've been somewhat crafty. not like super..but ya. you know what i mean. i just finished this little spinning rack yesterday with arts help. and i guess its not really little either. its about 40inches high i think. i'm not good with measurements lol. so i spent most of last night getting all my embellies on there..and its kinda making me want to scrap. which is good :) and um ignore the crooked pic.

the other crafty thing i did was this::

picked it up at the DI for a buck. it was navy blue. and actually pretty cute. but i really felt like painting i guess lol. so here it is in all its bad picture/lighting glory. i love all the buttons. and i love the color combo. not that it matches anything in my scrap area. but whatev! i dig it.

i feel like i'm hungover. like i slept like crap last night..and yeah. i'm feeling it right now. not to mention that this weekend just tore me up. saturday me and a friend from the mommy board did a sb garage sale..and yeah. after that we did an all night crop. yes we are insane lol. it was fun..but really freakin exhausting. but on the bright side i made some cash and got about 8 lo's done! wahoo me! :D sunday my friend c came over and we chilled and had bbq bc the weather was just fab. it was so nice to just sit on the front lawn drinkin our chai teas and pretending that we were anywhere but at my house listening to our kids argue lmao. it was priceless. then yesterday i got this ginormous bug up my butt to deep clean the house. yep. so yeah, my house was pretty and sparkling for about 2 seconds. blech.

anyways..i'm off to pickup olivia from school, whom by the way has another loose tooth! i cant believe it!!

ooh and today is c's bday. gotta a cute card in mind for her..and then we will celebrate this weekend.

i am so tired of this funk i'm in dude. i mean, i really seriously dont even feel like myself. i really hope that i'll feel better once its not winter. or maybe i'll get out of my funk when we find out whats going on with my momma. so far the news is getting better. :)

did this scrappage last night for dare 60. i dig it. took those pics yesterday in the back yard while the girls were swinging. such a pretty day. i even did some weeding. well actually, the 3 of us girls did some weeding. they are such good helpers! so i took them to mcd's as a reward after we were done. but before we went to mcd's i wanted to stop by the store and pick up a mag to look at. unfortunately there were not any out that i didnt already have! doh! hehe. so i stopped by 2 other stores before i found one i didnt have--which happened to be memory makers. i dont know why..but i just dont dig on that mag too much. too much writing, too many ads and just not enough lo's. ok, so i do know why i dont dig on it. lol.

the challenge on the pub today was to take a pic of the stuff inside your purse and post it. but i'm working, so no cam. i guess a list will have to do!

i'm feelin blah. maybe its the weather. i dont know.
i even wore a bright yellow shirt today to cheer me up and it didnt work. oh and the new kits are up at poppy ink and scrapologie and even those didnt cheer me up. geez! however, the kits for april at zingboom have certainly got my attention..

maybe i'm feelin all off because i've been off running errands and whatnot the last few days, so i havent been able to just be home and chillax. cuz right now i'm really missing that. which is ironic because i usually can't wait to get out of the house lol.

this week i did some shopping--got the girls some new jeans because olivia has just been tearin hers up lately. bunch of holes in the knees. drives me batty lol. went to the huge macy's sale here in town, got some fab boots for like 10bucks, a couple of shirts and a george forman grill. i think that was the best purchase all week--art loves that thing! the first thing we made was burgers, and man, they were thick and delicious. then yesterday he grilled up some sliced turkey breast for me and the girls, and he had porkchops. gotta love it when i dont have to cook! hehe

got some sad news from my mom the other day. and i dont know if i'm ready to share it right now since we dont know exactly whats going on..but it is health related..so if you could send some p&pt that would be awesome.

here is the lo i did yesterday during ambers class over at poppy ink. i love love her style. and it was so fun to do something so different from what i do!

its been snowing most of the day here..yuck! i was all ready for spring and then stupid mother nature had to go and change her mind on me! grr!

so this weekend i dont have many plans besides getting all upclose and personal with my new ATG lol. i just barely put it together tonight, and man that sucker is huge, but it sticks like...well like glue! or at least how glue should stick :) i have a bunch of new goodies just beggin to be glued lol--some ac, some sass and some cosmo, so hopefully i'll be feeling my mojo make a reappearance tomorrow.

whats new in my world::

got our taxes back, paid some bills and got some new toys :)

i needed a new printer/scanner cuz mine was just not doin it for me anymore..so i got the hpc5180. and let me tell you--that is one sweet ass machine. its just rad. in fact, i'll tell you a little secret. i'm a little intimidated by it...dont tell art that lol. i mean. its just...i dont know. so much more technologically advanced than i am! it can print notebook paper, graph paper..and lots of other stuff--STRAIGHT FROM THE PRINTER. no computer involved. its rad. i mean. i'm gonna be printing mad amounts of graph paper on my kraft cs ;) can't wait. :D

oh, and i got the ATG. yep. i'm tired of all my layouts falling apart after having used duck. and i hated my tombow's getting all gummy. so i bit the bullet and got the gun. and right now its sitting on my table, waiting to be played with...so hopefully tomorrow i can hop right on that. i cant wait to see how well it sticks, even tho i know there will be a learning curve since its much larger than what i'm used to.

and guess what else? i started doin digi! i really was afraid that i would never ever figure out PSE, but i did. and it only took me 2 hours to figure out that the tutorial in jan ck was a little off. lol. but after i figured that out, it was smooth sailing! and can i just say that i'm addicted to that too? i can definitely see some hybrids in my near future. so, to help with my new obsession, i bought an EHD to store all my digi stuff on. so yep. i'm locked and ready to roll!!

so i finally scrapped this photo of olivia and her redneck smile hehe. and i noticed after i was done how asian looking it is. art said its because i was channeling carolyn (who is japanese)..but the truth is, that in the picture olivia was wearing satin pajamas, and her hair was just so beautifully straight--and well it looked kinda asian to me. so there ya have it.

i just found out today that art doesn't have a day off till next thursday! oy. i dont know how he is going to make it! in the meantime, i'm having a little crop at my house on saturday, and then olivia and i are going to work on her valentines project for school. which happens to be a valentine holder. i wish i had thought about it earlier and then i could've gotten her something really cute to decorate. but um yea....i didnt. so, we are going to alter a cheese-its box! shes super excited and i think i might be a little bit too :)

so yesterday anna nicole passed away. that was surprising. really sad. really tragic. i feel for her daughter thats left behind. i dont want to speculate as to what i think happened, because really, does it matter? shes dead now, and deserves some respect. seems she didnt get much when she was alive..which also got me to thinking about a local news story. not because it was similar, but because 2 people recently passed away from a natural gas explosion. such a sad story--the local gas worker and the woman who owned the house were inside when it happend. it was such a strong explosion that it actually blew furniture onto the neighboring homes. appearantly the womans daughter who was 18 mos old was outside the home..and came away with only minor injuries. but man. that story really rocked me to my core. and so did annas. just the thought of leaving my kids behind..me not being there for them, to watch them grow up..so very sad for those families..my heart goes out to them.

didnt mean to get all bummed out on a fab friday..but thats what was on my mind :P

yesterday i did this one for dare 56--if you could only have one photo while you were stranded on a deserted island, which one would it be? i went thru tons of pics yesterday trying to find the one--the one that makes me smile, makes me laugh..makes me remember .and you know, i found tons. i mean TONS that i just loved. but you know what i did notice? not many of art. and why wouldnt i want a picture of my love? i mean, i did marry him afterall lol. so i searched and searched..and i found this little gem. just chillaxin in our bed, watching cartoons or a movie..just like they do everyday. this one made me smile. and it made me giggle to see my lil nakie girls wrapped up in their blankets..snuggled up next dad. actually more like squishing dad. but no matter..he loves it. and then, this picture made me sad. sad because right now art is working nights..so its been a few weeks since i've seen this scene..and it made me sad because i know one day, the girls may not want to snuggle with dad. but thats another day. not today. :)

its a card thing..

went cropping on friday, made 14 cards. which really aint much. but if you consider that i spent the first 3 hours chit chatting, and the last hour scrappin, its actually probably good lol.

went scrappy shopping on saturday with becki.. and that was a blast! we went to the memories store in bountiful, then went to a little store in the avenues, but unfortunately we missed them by about 15mins. darn! so i'll have to try to remember to make it up there next time i head out. we also went to heartland and pebbles because both stores were having sales...and they were pretty good. got stuff i didnt really need, but really wanted :)

oh, and went to joanns to pick up some felt so i can make my own shapes, cuz i'm not liking paying 8.50 a bottle for flowers!! however, .14cents a sheet i like a lot! lol.

called 'its a card thing'. thats my etsy shop where i'll be selling some cards! i've been selling them here and there for a while, and then my friend kelly suggested i check out etsy and setup shop....so i did! its pretty cute and doesnt have much in it, but i hope to be adding at least 1-3 cards a day to it, so check them out please :) the card up there ^^ is one that is there now :)

this picture is heeeelarious. seriously. this is mike. he and art have been best friends since like, i dont know. junior high i think. anyhoo. mike is a very unique individual, to say the least lol. hes you know, average height, buddha belly. navajo indian. i call him the big fat indian. he loves the name. and recognizes that its a term of endearment. and hes a hardcore rocker to his very bones. seriously. even drives a trans am. hehe.

this pic was taken at olivia's bday party this summer, and someone was making balloon animals. well, this one came out lookin a little naughty, if you kwim..and he put it on and was rockin out. hehe. it was so dang funny. im so glad i got a pic of it.

so yesterday i pouted. i wanted to eat out. and art didnt. now, we dont eat out often, and usually when we do, its just someplace like wendys. nothing fancy. if you know me, then you know, that when i get an idea in my head, my mind is made up and i want it like yesterday lol. sounds a little silly when it comes to talking about food, but hey. its fast. its easy. and there are no dishes to do afterwards. which are all perfect reasons to eat out if you ask me. lol. so i called him early in evening, so that he wouldnt make dinner. but he didnt answer. so i text him. and no response. so finally i get a hold of him about 30 mins before i get off work. now in my head, i knew that he had already made dinner. but i was just hanging on to this small thread of hope, that he hadnt and we could eat out. but no. he made spaghetti. and i pouted. all night actually. well unless you consider this pouting lol. anyways, what got me thinking about this, was a post on 2ps about your 5 favorite restaurants, which led me to think about what to have for lunch today...and then ya. so i thought i'd list my faves.

1.mimis (love love the turkey dinner, as well as the yummy raisin bread)

2.the other place (a very cozy greek cafe. chicken pasta salad to die for!)

3.desert edge brewery (cool little brewery, i go there for the chef salad..yummo!)

4.spaghetti factory (cheap. great meatballs. whoa. that sounds a little dirty hehe.)

so its been a week of adjustment around here with art being on nights. its not too bad. i mean, hes home during the day. which the kids like. but. hes not here at night. duh. and i hate sleeping alone. and really, i'm really really afraid of the dark. in fact. i hear noises. maybe even dead people. seriously. why is it, that when i'm home alone, thats when i hear freaky noises?!! why?! i mean. hello! i'm an insomniac. and i get spooked easily. so you know this girl aint sleeping much without the hubs around. ugh. this is going to be a looooooong 6 weeks.

and before i forget..you need to go check out color your memories cuz my designs are up people!! this kit is soo cute! loved playing with all the primas, thickers and dream street papers! super fun and sweet for valentines.

oh, and that layout up there ^^^^^ is of maya. that picture has been sitting on my desk since LAST YEAR. seriously. no joke. i just never got around to scrapping it till today. and can i tell you how much i love that modern romance by daisy d's?! seriously in love with it. seriously seriously. dude, i think i like that word.

uh ya. so i got my haircut...and i didnt like it. so i went back and had it cut again. and so far..i think i like it. i had it cut into an a-line..its cute. but hard for me to get used to.
anyhoo..i've been scrappin, but can't share what i'm working on just yet. art is going to nights next week! ugh. i hate when hes on nights. i hate sleeping alone. i'm scared of the dark lol. gonna be interesting for me to work when hes on nights, but we're gonna try to make it work. olivia just lost her very first baby tooth yesterday! i was so surprised..she's been talking about wanting to have a loose tooth for about a month now, but i had reassured her (and myself, mostly) that it would be quite sometime before that happened.

well i was wrong! lol. she came up to me the day before yesterday and told me that she had a loose tooth, and i'm like no you dont! lol, then i checked, and it was!! i was so surprised. and then i was super sad. plus it kinda freaks me out to see and feel.

so last night she was watching art playing on the ps2, and she told him that her tooth fell out...and there it was, sitting on her tongue! thats gotta be a record! i mean, it took one stinkin day for it to come loose and then fall out! i remember being a kid and it seemed to take ages for my teeth to get super loose, and i dont remember them ever falling out on their own...mine always had to have a string tied to a doorknob. or maybe that was just my impatience to get the darn things out lmao.

anyways, olivia's smile is now one less tooth, and she is now one dollar richer thanks to the toothfairy!

its been ages since i updated!!

been kinda busy around here with maya's birthday, dt deadlines, and of course xmas. not that you could tell that its xmas by looking at my house. we dont even have our tree up yet!!

yup. gotta do that sometime this week. eventually. lol

so i just got off the phone with my mama..had a good ole time just laughin our butts off. i miss those convos. too bad we can't have them

in person. seriously tho mom..you need to move back here cuz i'm here and so are my offspring. which are youre offspring. and we aint movin to south dakota. nuff said. :)

i told my mama to come here and check out this lo i did today..its a pretty simple one..but the journaling came about because of what i wrote in her thanksgiving day card. and yes. i just barely mailed her her thanksgiving card. i'm el procrastinator majorus. hehe.

so here's what the journaling says::
i was thinking the other day that i didnt have a lot to be thankful for. ..my mom doesnt live near us, we are still struggling financially with no end in sight.. i question myself as a mother daily. but the truth is..i'm lucky. i'm lucky to have a mom who followed her heart. i'm blessed to have a husband who busts his butt everyday so we can have everything we need. we are lucky to have good friends. and i'm lucky that my kids want to tell me stories.

basically..i just realized that it doesnt matter if i live in a ginormous house(and really, do i want to? cuz i hate cleaning) and it doesnt matter if we have the biggest tv..or the newest car. what matters is family. and friends that are like family. i just realized a couple months ago that i'm all alone in this big state of utah. my mom moved to be with her one true love last year and i've been sitting here moping about. not that i begrudge her happiness. i dont. but i'm a selfish person. and i want her all to myself. i'm not ashamed to admit that. it just took me a year to realize that she's not dead, she's just in california! lmao. seriously tho. i'm thankful that she was brave and moved to be with the one she loved. and i just wanted her to know that. and i hope that one day my kids will follow her example.
